Placer County, CA (July 31, 2023) – Three people sustained fatal injuries in a Highway 65 multi-car crash. According to ABC10, the crash happened before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol reported a traffic accident along Highway 65, south of Riosa Road, leaving three people dead.
The police said a 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Highway 65 at an unknown speed. Meanwhile, a 2022 Kia Sorrento and a 2021 Subaru Forrester were traveling in the opposite direction.
According to the authorities, the Toyota veered into the opposing lanes and collided with the Kia and Subaru.
Unfortunately, the 53-year-old woman from Rocklin, who was driving the Toyota, lost her life. However, the reason behind her entry into the opposing lanes remains unclear.
Moreover, the driver of the Subaru and the right front passenger were transported to a hospital but succumbed to their injuries.
Additionally, another occupant in the car is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
Emergency responders transported the Kia driver to a hospital with moderate injuries.
Though the authorities have not disclosed the identities of the victims yet, they have revealed that the two other individuals who lost their lives were a 66-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man from Marysville.
The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
