Bakersfield, CA (September 12, 2023) – A 23-year-old woman from Bakersfield succumbed to fatal injuries after a Highway 99 car crash. According to BakersfieldNow, the crash occurred around 5:17 am on Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a pickup truck off the roadway and debris on northbound Highway 99, south of Sherwood Avenue.
According to the authorities, a 23-year-old woman from Bakersfield stopped her 2014 Chevrolet in the number two lane without any lights on her vehicle.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old woman driving her 2019 GMC at 65 to 70 miles per hour was within the same lane.
Unfortunately, she did not see the blacked-out Chevrolet ahead of her and collided with its rear, causing both vehicles to go off the roadway.
Additionally, the driver of the Chevrolet, who failed to use a seatbelt, sustained significant injuries and succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
