Oxnard, CA (July 22, 2022) – John Winter (58) of Santa Barbara was identified as the fatality in a hit-and-run crash on Rose Avenue and Tiesa Lane in Oxnard. According to VC Star, the crash was reported around 3:30 am on Sunday.

Authorities responded to reports of a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a suspected DUI driver near Rose Avenue and Tiesa Lane in Oxnard.
Following the crash, one victim reportedly suffered major injuries and died at the scene. He was recently identified as John S. Winter of Santa Barbara.
According to reports, a suspected drunken driver struck Winter while walking. The suspected drunk driver then fled the scene.
Authorities later arrested the driver on suspicion of felony DUI and hit-and-run. As per a recent update, the driver pleaded not guilty to the charges.
