Atwater, CA (August 30, 2023) – Joshua Hitto (26) of Stockton and an 8-year-old girl died at the scene of an Atwater car accident. According to Merced Sun-Star, police responded to the crash around 12:10 a.m. on Saturday.

Among the victims were two Toyota passengers, identified as Joshua Hitto, aged 26, from Stockton, and an 8-year-old girl.
According to a press release by Atwater Police Department, around 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a reported injury-causing traffic collision at the intersection of Green Sands Avenue and North Buhach Road.
Upon arrival, police encountered a two-car crash involving a silver Toyota Corolla and a white Acura sedan. Officials noted that various occupants from both vehicles sustained injuries in the accident. They also transported them to local medical facilities.
Regrettably, both fatally injured passengers died at the accident scene.
The 8-year-old girl’s mother says they were only two minutes away from home when the collision occurred.
“I love you, Caloni, and I’m going to think about you every single day, and I thought, ‘I want you to be here.’ Maybe you are supposed to be helping somebody else, but I’m never going to forget you,” Ruby Roy, the child’s mother, said.
Furthermore, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist in arranging the funeral for Caloni.
