Sacramento, CA (September 5, 2023) – Linda Marie Hufnagel (53) of Sacramento succumbed to fatal injuries after a Sacramento I-5 crash. According to the Sacramento Bee, the crash happened after 3:00 a.m. on Monday.

According to California Highway Patrol North Sacramento spokesman Officer Justin Fetterly, Hufnagel was heading southbound on I-5 near the transition to Interstate 80. She swerved her vehicle for unknown reasons and collided with a stationary U-Haul on the right shoulder due to a mechanical issue.
Subsequently, the Mazda driven by Hufnagel re-entered the roadway but became disabled, leading to a collision with a Toyota Tacoma.
Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries due to the crash’s impact.
Meanwhile, the U-Haul driver reported experiencing pain, while the Tacoma driver sustained minor injuries. Paramedics then transported both individuals to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the cause of this Sacramento I-5 crash remained under investigation, with authorities yet to determine if alcohol played a role in the incident.
