Menifee, CA (October 14, 2021) – Legend Aries Girard, 1-year old, was killed in a crash with another vehicle on Domenigoni Parkway, near Lindenberger Road in Riverside.
The collision was reported around 05:20 p.m. Menifee Police and paramedics responded to the scene where two children, including Girard, were thrown from a pickup truck after the collision. The children were traveling in a Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer when Logan Schell’s Ford F-150 pickup truck collided with the driver’s side of the vehicle. The impact caused the Chevrolet to cross the center divider and fall on its side, throwing the two children from the truck.
Police and first responders found both the 1-year old, Legend Aries Girard from San Jacinto, and the 16-year old dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet did not receive further medical treatment while two passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Logan Schell, the driver of the Ford F-150, was 18 at the time and was arrested on suspicion of misdeamor vehicular manslauter but later released. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors at this time but the investigation is ongoing
