Breogan Cristobal Suffered Multiple Injuries in A Mira Mesa Hit-And-Run Crash in San Diego
San Diego, CA (September 15, 2022) – A Mira Mesa hit-and-run accident left Breogan Cristobal (25) with injuries in San Diego. According to ABC 10, the crash happened at around 6:00 am on Tuesday.
Motorcyclist Breogan Cristobal survived a hit-and-run accident on Mira Mesa Boulevard in San Diego involving a gray Toyota 4 Runner.
According to Cristobal, as shared with ABC 10, he rode his motorcycle to work, heading west on Mira Mesa Boulevard near Reagan Road. Then, a Toyota 4Runner entered the intersection when he had a green traffic light. The vehicle then turned right into his lane, skipping three lanes.
“After I see her skip the second lane, all I’m thinking is, I ‘m done for,” Christobal said. The 4Runner hit him, and Cristobal flew into the vehicle’s rear windshield, helmet first. He continued, “both brakes are locked up, and I’m just sliding.”
Cristobal shared with ABC 10 that he got stuck in the moving SUV before falling out while still holding onto his motorcycle. He harshly fell on the road and felt dizzy due to the impact.
Then Cristobal said, “hearing my head go through the back window and the glass shattering. I could feel my body as to how deep it went into the car. It had gone to about chest level.”
Luckily, some people in the area saw him and helped him. He was able to take photos immediately after locating his phone. He told ABC 10 that the female driver (20s-30s) checked the damage on her car for a few minutes and then fled the scene.
“In the moment, I actually started screaming, ‘No! Don’t leave! Don’t leave.’ It’s pretty inhumane to just leave someone on the floor. I could have been dead,” he said. Cristobal suffered multiple injuries, including a concussion, road rash, and bruises. According to doctors, his helmet protected him. They also said it’s why he survived the collision.
