According to CHP-Monterey, a Mazda heading south on Highway 1 entered the northbound lanes just south of 183.
Simultaneously, a Subaru in the vicinity collided head-on with the Mazda.
Unfortunately, the Subaru’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, Tessa Knight, the Mazda’s 23-year-old driver from Monterey, was first taken to the hospital before being arrested on DUI-related charges in this Monterey County DUI crash.
