OXNARD, CA (January 29, 2020) – An off-duty Oxnard police officer, 45-year-old Nathan Martin, was killed in a collision involving his motorcycle and a truck on Third Street, near Campton Drive.
Around 4 p.m., Martin was heading east on Third Street on his motorcycle when a truck made a left turn in front of him and they collided. Martin was taken to the hospital but despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead.
It is unknown if the other driver involved sustained any injuries. Following the fatal crash, Third Street was closed for an hour for the investigation.
Martin had been with the Oxnard police department for 20 years and was a resource officer at Hueneme High School.
