A Street Racer Left His Passenger Fatally Injured in East Bay Solo Hit-and-Run
East Bay, CA (July 17, 2023) – A fatally injured victim was left to die alone after an East Bay solo hit-and-run involving a street racer on Interstate 580. According to KRON4, the crash occurred just after 5:32 pm on Sunday.
A victim suffering from fatal injuries was abandoned by a street racer in an East Bay solo hit-and-run incident.
The California Highway Patrol is now working to identify the street racer and another passenger involved in this unfortunate East Bay solo hit-and-run incident on Interstate 580.
CHP officers found an ejected passenger at the scene after they received calls about a Chevrolet Camaro and a Toyota Camry engaged in a street race near North Livermore Avenue.
They then pronounced the abandoned passenger dead at the scene.
Investigators determined this crash to be a solo hit-and-run and that the second passenger also fled the scene.
They also believe that the victim and the two men occupied the Toyota Camry.
However, when they crashed, the driver and the other passenger freed themselves from the vehicle and had someone in a white SUV pick them up on the shoulder of Interstate 580.
Authorities described the driver and the other passenger as Hispanic male adults in their thirties.
