The pedestrian was said to be knocked to the roadway and suffered critical injuries following the accident. He later died at the scene.
The Fresno County Coroner identified the pedestrian as Raymundo Martinez of Fresno.
According to reports, Martinez was walking south in the northbound lane of Elm Avenue when he was struck by a sedan.
