The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner revealed the victim’s identity as 41-year-old Robert Fulcher.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Friday, when a silver Chevrolet Camaro struck Fulcher as he attempted to cross Palmdale Boulevard near Fifth Street East.
Witnesses stated that Fulcher ran south across Palmdale Boulevard while the vehicle traveled eastbound.
Moreover, authorities explained that the driver of a vehicle directly in front of the Camaro managed to swerve and avoid hitting Fulcher. However, the Camaro driver failed to react quickly and collided with the pedestrian.
“The driver of the Camaro remained at the scene and immediately contacted emergency services,” stated sheriff’s officials.
Unfortunately, despite the prompt response from emergency services, Fulcher succumbed to fatal injuries at the accident scene.
