San Diego, CA (August 24, 2023) – One man from Fallbrook died and sustained severe injuries after a San Marcos car crash on Deer Springs Road, west of Mesa Rock Road. According to ABC10 San Diego, the crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.

A San Marcos car crash resulted in the death of a 23-year-old Fallbrook man and severe injuries to a 61-year-old Murrieta man.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Deer Springs Road, west of Mesa Rock Road.
The 23-year-old man, a resident of Fallbrook, drove a silver BMW 330ci in the eastbound lane of Deer Springs Road. Meanwhile, the 61-year-old man from Murrieta driving a gray Toyota Tacoma went westbound.
The CHP stated that the BMW driver crossed over the solid double yellow lines for unknown reasons and directly into the truck’s path, resulting in the collision.
First responders pronounced the Fallbrook man dead at the scene, and the truck driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his significant injuries.
Moreover, the authorities temporarily closed the road until approximately 8:15 p.m. for investigation and clearance.
Furthermore, CHP determined that alcohol and drugs did not play a role in this San Marcos car crash.
