Santa Monica, CA (June 6, 2023) – A 19-year-old male is currently in critical condition after being struck in a suspected DUI crash in Santa Monica. According to Patch, the crash occurred on Friday.

The Santa Monica Police Department responded to reports of a suspected DUI crash at the intersection of 26th Street and Wilshire Boulevard.
Authorities initially found a 19-year-old victim with severe traumatic injuries to both legs. Paramedics later transported him to UCLA Medical Center.
As of recent reports, the victim remains in critical condition.
According to officers, a Volkswagen Jetta struck a person sitting on a bus bench after it drove off the road.
The driver, now identified as John Edward Alevizos, was reportedly arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
