Fresno, CA (August 25, 2023) – A 70-year-old car passenger succumbed to fatal injuries after a Southwest Fresno truck crash on Manning Ave. east of Yuba Ave. near the town of San Joaquin. According to Fox26 News, the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

A 70-year-old woman lost her life on Wednesday night after the car she was a passenger in collided with a big rig.
The California Highway Patrol swiftly responded to the incident at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Manning Ave., situated east of Yuba Ave. near San Joaquin, in the southwestern region of Fresno County.
Preliminary investigations suggest a 32-year-old man on a Freightliner truck and trailer transporting grapes from a nearby vineyard made a left turn out of a field onto eastbound Manning Avenue.
He then directly crossed the path of a westbound-traveling Honda HRV.
Despite the efforts of the Honda driver to avoid the collision, the vehicle struck the rear trailer’s axle area.
The impact resulted in significant injuries for both the 72-year-old male driver of the Honda and his 70-year-old wife occupying the passenger seat.
Following the crash, emergency services airlifted the woman to Community Regional Medical Center, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Moreover, a subsequent investigation by authorities ruled out alcohol and drugs as contributing factors to the collision.
