San Diego, CA (August 4, 2023) – A man succumbed to fatal injuries in an SR-94 pedestrian crash after walking in lanes of highway traffic in Sherman Heights. According to The San Diego Tribune, the crash occurred around 8:20 p.m. on Thursday.

The California Highway Patrol responded to an SR-94 pedestrian crash in Sherman Heights, where an SUV struck a man walking in the lanes of the traffic.
The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.
According to Officer Jesse Matias, numerous witnesses reported seeing a man walking within the lanes of traffic on the eastbound state Route 94, close to 22nd Street, just moments before the collision occurred.
Following this, a Cadillac SUV collided with the pedestrian, leading to the man’s fatal injuries.
Authorities have not released the deceased’s identity until they notify his family.
Moreover, Officer Matias mentioned that the 50-year-old male Cadillac driver promptly pulled off the highway and made a call to 911, and provided information about the incident.
While investigators have determined that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol, they are actively examining the possibility of the pedestrian being affected by drugs or alcohol.
