According to the report, a Ford pickup truck going northbound on Highway 101 slammed into the concrete center divider located south of Fair Oaks Avenue.
The single-vehicle accident escalated to a multi-vehicle collision when five more vehicles collided with other cars on the northside lanes.
Authorities mentioned that three drivers involved in the collision went out of their vehicles to check and respond to the other victims of the accident.
Unfortunately, incoming cars hit them, causing two drivers to be propelled to the other side of the road.
The three victims died at the scene.
