San Diego, CA (July 14, 2023) – A University City hit-and-run crash left a pedestrian with critical injuries. According to Fox 5, the crash occurred at 1:24 a.m. Friday.

The San Diego Police Department responded to a University City hit-and-run crash where a pedestrian sustained significant injuries.
According to Officer David O’Brien of the San Diego Police Department, the man illegally crossed 8500 Genesee Ave. from the east curb to the west curb when a red Kia heading southbound hit him.
Due to the impact of the crash, the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was brought to a local hospital.
SDPD mentioned that the Kia left the scene after colliding with the man. However, they located the unoccupied vehicle a short distance from the accident location.
The SDPD Traffic Division is now investigating the cause of the accident and has not released the description of the hit-and-run driver.
