A Child Suffers Serious Injuries in West Modesto Hit-and-Run Crash
West Modesto, CA (August 7, 2022) – A West Modesto hit-and-run accident on Donald Street near Bellenita Park left a 4-year-old child with major injuries in Stanislaus County. According to the Modesto Bee, the crash happened at around 9:40 pm on Saturday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a speeding vehicle on Donald Street hit the 4-year-old boy who was purchasing ice cream at an ice cream truck with a caregiver. Then, the driver fled the scene and is currently at large.
The vehicle went west on Donald Street and turned north of Hancock street after leaving the scene. The CHP and responders arrived at the scene and immediately flew the child out to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento due to severe injuries.
The CHP is searching for the driver involved in the crash. They’ve just released a photo of the vehicle, a white Dodge Nitro SUV with a damaged front end. CHP Modesto office spokesman Officer Tom Olsen shared with the Modesto Bee, “we need to get this person.”
