NORWALK, CA (February 5, 2020) – 24-year-old Alyssa Alexus Contreras was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the 605 Freeway, south of Rosecrans Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 3:45 a.m. Contreras, a La Puente woman, was traveling south in her Toyota Corolla when she collided with the center divider and came to rest in multiple lanes of traffic. She was then struck by a Dodge Ram and a Honda Accord.
Her vehicle, flipped onto its roof following the initial crash, was then struck by a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
42-year-old Jose O. Estrada, the driver of the Honda Accord, was transported to the hospital with major injuries. The driver of the Dodge, 28-year-old Jonathan J. Villalpando sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized as well. 46-year-old Milton Max Marquardt, the driver of the Chrysler, was uninjured.
All lanes of the 605 freeway were reopened by 8 a.m., following closures to investigate the deadly crash.
